It's actually in our nature to worry about things that are important to us. We want to know how things will turn out and think worrying about it will somehow give us the answer. Where we get into trouble is when we let that uncertainty take over our thoughts and lives. In reality, 95% of what causes us woe never comes to fruition. Worry is almost always future based and just a series of thoughts that run rampant in our heads. We really have no direct control over the things we are obsessing about. You do however, have control over your thoughts. When you hear yourself continually engaged in a conversation about what may or may not happen say something like, " I change what I can and accept what I cannot" or in the words of Scarlett O'Hara, "I can't think about that today. I'll worry about that tomorrow." You can't predict or control the future so thinking about what could go wrong in it is just a waste of your time. Putting it off until tomorrow has you delaying it - the worry that is - indefinitely! It's more productive to focus on what you do have control over rather than the doubt and fear that swirls around in your head. Get into action instead of your head to overcome what concerns you most.
