Teenagers are just misunderstood
I have always valued working with adolescents and young adults. They are our future afterall! We forget what it was like when we were teens, probably one of, if not the, most tumultuous times of your life. From the ages 15-24 we experience the most developmental growth of our lives: spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally. Easy to understand then, why teens are confused, in doubt about their future, longing to connect and just plain exhausted. I’m committed to helping teens remove the blocks to discovering what is possible for their lives. Sometimes all you need is someone to listen and bonus if they get what you’re saying!

Stress & Anxiety
Life’s challenges are sometimes overwhelming and you feel alone in dealing with them.
Teens experience stress and anxiety in an entirely different way. The way they look at the world and their problems is based on a mirage of views : parents, teachers, friends and social media. Core identity’s are emerging and the world is becoming a much scarier space than the carefree days of elementary and middle school.
Through counseling and individual coaching or support groups, together we will talk about your concerns, problems, and goals, exploring what strategies have worked in the past and what ones have not. I’ll offer solutions for how to turn those “problems” into opportunities by providing personalized guidance, inspiration, and support in a safe, non-judgemental environment.
Through self assessment you will learn strategies to identify what keeps you stuck, face your fears, cope with change, uncover your true passion, manage stress, and develop self-confidence. I’m here to help you explore and navigate how the meaning you give to things has a profound effect on your direction. Stress is inevitable in our lives; it’s our reactions to stressful events over which we have control.

2.8 million youth age 12-17 had at least one major depressive episode in 2014.
People with mental illnesses often feel embarrassed to talk about their issues, or feel like they will become a burden to others by voicing their problems. Many suffer in silence, not knowing who to go to or where to turn.
Pharmaceuticals are not always the answer. Part of treatment is validation of how you are feeling and support to know you are not alone. Uncovering the core root of your depression is the goal so we can treat the cause not the symptom.
Together through a series of blood work, nutrition assessment and talk therapy we can focus on the what’s causing you to feel blue. This makes for more effective and long lasting results. Now that’s something to smile about!
